Q'uo on material needs
Well, not Q’uo so much as Jesus, but Q’uo interpreting Jesus. I’ve looked for this quote quite a few times because there have been multiple invocations of the Lord’s Prayer by the Confederation over the years, and yet I’ve never been able to properly search for this one interpretation I’ve often spoken about. I can see now why: “Lord’s Prayer” is not directly mentioned in the transcript, so it never came up!
In any case, notice that the single day is the quantum of requestable material assistance. We want to be free of need, of lack, or worry about impoverishment. These are normal aspects of the human condition, and we all know that seeking ulitmate security usually comes at the price of our soul, our freedom, or other things that are precious to us. To put faith in the Creator that our needs will be met for all time might be too much to ask, too much to expect a human to forecast.
But to get through a single day? That is both plausible while still itself enough of a leap of faith. And it’s a great example of the kind of Christian wisdom contacts like Q’uo are able to fish out of a two thousand year mixed history and theology and bring to the focused attention of the seeker who really wishes to meet life and catalyst head-on without throwing the self at life with utter abandon.
I’m trying to do more regular posting again, but in the meantime, I can say that this philosophy has gotten me through several bouts of unemployment without losing myself to despair.
M: Will my financial situation resolve?
Q’uo: We are those of Q’uo, and are aware of your query. The issue of supply is a ticklish one and certainly this instrument experiences many times of wondering precisely how the bills shall be paid, precisely how supply will manifest itself and yet, indeed it always has, for this instrument. It has sometimes been mighty close but somehow the wagon has continued to stay on the road in some way. And we would suggest that the visualizing of this state of perfection will encourage the richness of supply. We do not suggest a laundry list of needed things in your prayers to the Creator. When you think about the prayer that the master known as Jesus taught to his disciples, it only asked for today. Focus upon that which is needed this day and ask, without pride but also without shame, “May I have that which is needed in supply and in energy in all things this day, that I may serve?” Let that affirmation rest, knowing that, for this one day, you will be supplied with that which you truly need.
We apologize for not being more specific but we find that in order to keep the tuning of what this instrument would call the highest and best that she requested, we need to stay at the level of spiritual principles.
